Employees Generally Happy with Pay

A recent survey indicates that nearly 75% of employees in the U.S. are happy with their compensation, though 20% note that they would like to change the combination of pay and benefits that they receive from their employers. The survey also showed the following:
Given the choice of what are referred to as “unconventional” benefits, 33% of workers would like a more flexible schedule, 22% would like more family benefits, 16% would like supplemental insurance and 13% would like job training.
Oddly, only 35% of employees felt that performance is the primary factor in determining pay, while 57% felt that tenure was the primary factor. Managers, on the other hand, noted that they felt that performance was the primary indicator for determining pay.
37% of workers feel that they are not paid an equal amount to whose employees who perform similar tasks, indicating at least some level of discontent.
