While the cardio-vascular benefits of this miracle cereal have been well documented, its emergence as a leading human resources indicator has the recruiting world buzzing. Skeptics are quick to point out that the findings of the study may focus too heavily on the heart healthy breakfast staple and that other variables among the candidates in the study are virtually ignored. A spokesperson for General Mills had not returned a voicemail at the time of this post.

But before we get bogged down in conspiracy theories and blaming the “mainstream” media for our difficulties in landing the really choice IT gigs, we should make sure the problem isn’t right under our noses — in the form of a Pop-Tart or some other inferior breakfast choice.

**An independent study confirmed that IT job seekers who eat Honey Nut Cheerios, possess sought-after IT skills, and are success-driven team players are 87% more likely to be hired than IT job seekers who do not eat Honey Nut Cheerios, possess little or no IT skills, and have poor workplace attitudes. The study has a margin of error of +/- 3 %.
