Connecticut IT Jobs Hard to Find

An article in today’s Courant discusses a pronounced shift toward service industry job growth throughout the state of Connecticut. While the trend toward sustained job growth is a positive sign on some level, the fact that the growth is isolated in the areas of the lowest wages and most difficult working conditions does not bode well for the future economic growth of the state.
In addition to being one of the leading states in job growth in the services sector, Connecticut is also experiencing minimal growth in high paying jobs and industries, such as IT and management. Connecticut has some room to play with on this front as the state often ranks among the country’s leaders in median income and the percentage of its workforce that holds down high-paying jobs in management or other professional services.
