Perhaps it’s the weather and a sense of rejuvenation that comes with Spring, or perhaps it’s just that I’m involved in the business of IT jobs and staffing on a daily basis. Whatever the case may be, it appears to me that the number of employers seeking qualified IT employees over the past several months has been growing, with a particular emphasis coming in just the past two weeks.

This could really be anecdotal, and due entirely to greater visibility of our web sites, or it could be that IT candidates are crawling out of hibernation that Winter sometimes brings to jump-start their careers. In either instance, the effect here has been tremendous, as we’ve seen an influx of highly qualified candidates coming in and, serendipitously, a larger-than-usual number of potential clients seeking to hire.

Most positions are for permanent and contract-to-permanent, which is a bit of a departure from what we’ve seen in-house recently, where shorter 3-6 month contracts for project-specific needs were the norm.
